The following is an account by Bruce Meland
email:  etimes@teleport.com

I took a motorcycle to Paul to be converted to Vapor Technology. Paul hired a technician to do the conversion as Paul is the promoter not the technical person. the technical person was sincere and tried his best  but relied on mechanical methods of operation instead of electrical-mechanical  methods so it was a failure so to speak. they did not get it running  and we tried  but got it going once by pulling the motorcycle to get it started. finally we did but as you can surmise they did not have a finished project.  This
technician left Paul and I don't know who Paul has now to do his technical
work.  Bruce.

The following is an account by Uli of Australia:

I found his plans not just worthless, but the whole effort took up a lot
of my time and never really worked the way he said.
The plans have been the bread and butter income for Pantone for many
years. They are the center piece of the whole scam. It basically
works like this. Pantone sells you a plan which allegedly enables
you to run your car on anything but of course that can be done or at
least he does not know how to do this. Therefore the plans are
deliberately vague and sketchy. No one has ever been able to get his
car to run on anything after such a conversion. So when you ring him
up for advice, he gives you more vague answers that do not make sense
at all. In the end he will tell you that it is all your own fault
that it did not work, because you failed to follow the instructions.
He will also tell you about countless other people who had no problem
at all and are now running their cars on all sorts of things
including urine etc,. These people of course don't exist and he
cannot give you names. You give him the benefit of the doubt and
write of your 175 bucks to experience. That is how it works.
By the way, the plans contain a disclaimer which states that the
process is experimental and cannot be guaranteed to work. This is
contrary to the advertising, don't you think?

When I built the GEET conversion from the plans, I carried it out
as professionally as you can imagine. Being a toolmaker by trade, helped in
the skill department. I even machined up one of the so called air management valves out of Aluminum billet. In addition to that, I used the original exhaust mounted fuel processor that Geet where and still are selling. There is no way that the conversion failed because I did anything wrong. When I started it I could not see how it could work but I thought Pantone must know something that I do not know. Now I know that was never the case. As for the air management valve: Pantone claims to have a patent on the design. I know that this was never the case.

David Sligar reports:

I installed the GEET on a 1976 Cadillac DeVille with its 500 cid V8 engine -- surely a worst case example of a gas guzzler!  The system entirely replaced the Rochester Quad 4 carburetor.  I drove the car from Colorado Springs to Denver and back one day, and got mileage  about 15% better than the carb. mileage -- i.e., about 12 mpg. Hardly impressive, but still far from an absolute failure.  Given the simplicity of Paul's air-fuel valve design, it was not surprising to me that the driveability in town was awful, verging on unsafe.  On the highway at constant speed, there was no problem.  The major issue with the setup as I ran it had to do with the bubbler.  Whenever the engine pulled a vacuum, the bubbler would swamp and would dump pints of  liquid gasoline directly into the intake line.  Given that fact, my marginal improvement in mileage on the Denver run (about 130 miles total) was impressive.  Paul's cross country tour was not done with a bubbler, but with one or two small carburetors doing the  vaporizing. I think there is something interesting going on with this system.  I have for now run out of time and money to pursue refinements, but I thought my experience would address at least partially some of
your questions.               Best regards,   David Sligar

Tony Cooper reports:

I read your recent link about the independent? test of a GEET device by Prof. Shields. Quite intriguing, especially the claim that when a 50/50 gas/water mix was used no water was consumed. I would have thought that some water vapor would have been carried into the engine, anyway what I want to ask is has anyone seen or have a copy of the plans that Paul Pantone advertises  on his website.  http://www.Friend.ly.Net/GEET I twice e-mailed asking where i could purchase a set of plans for a car conversion [$175] but as yet received no reply. Prof. Shields seems to have had the same problem, i quote: "After several unsuccessful attempts by A.E.R.O. to purchase advertised plans for the much touted "GEET" device, one of our researchers obtained a copy of Pantone's patent." I downloaded a copy of the patent which is linked in his website and it looks quite simple to construct so if his advertised plans are not forthcoming i will build one from the patent drawings and hope to fine tune it as needed.  I have a down draft gasifier that i built and hooked up to a stationary 4cyl. Toyota gasoline engine. The engine runs fine on charcoal as the filters can easily handle the low tar dust. When run on wood the high tars are much more in evidence in the filters of course. Now what i would like to try is routing the wood gas directly to the engine via a GEET device. If this could be found feasible and the traditional cumbersome system of cyclones, cooler, filter could be eliminated, then the opportunities for using the gasifier in a
pickup truck would be really improved, not having to carry all the gas cleanup equipt. around.

It appears to me that the GEET device like several other FE gizmos has some merit although perhaps it's not all that is claimed by Mr. Pantone. His unwillingness to reply to people Prof. Shields and me [an eternal FE optimist] when i want give him 175 bucks for his advertised plans doesn't do much to inspire confidence in his integrity.
Maybe someone at GEET or on your list will read this and help me out??

The scoop on Pantone's engine:

1.  Nothing special about the engine itself.  A plain ol' lawnmower engine
would work fine.
2.  Principle:  Run the engine on fumes rather than injecting liquid gasoline.
Only the fumes ignite anyway.  The evaporation of liquid in a normal engine
merely helps keep valves from overheating, but is wasteful.  So that basic
premise is solid.  The approach does in fact increase mileage.
3.  Preheating the fuel vapors with exhaust heat helps increase the tendency to combust.  No problem.
4.  The jar containing the gasoline where the fumes are drawn off can contain mayonnaise or anything else, matters not.  Those materials are non-volatile and stay in the jar.  The only purpose is to spoof people into thinking that they are being consumed.
5.  All the talk about magnetic effects and other wild extraneous claims are to mask the simplicity.  Such claims must be obscure enough that people not understand them, or the promoter would reduce himself to pedestrian levels and sacrifice people's presumption that they need him in any way to produce the same effect themselves.

The GEET system works by pre-heating a fuel/crap mixture to the point
where all the hydrocarbons are vaporized.  As long as the mixture has
enough combustible material in it, it will burn.  Not very well, but
it will burn.  Dilute a gallon of gasoline with a gallon of water,
and you cut the maximum theoretical efficiency of the engine in terms
of energy per gallon of mix in half.

The exhaust is so "clean" because it's so diluted with steam and
other stuff that doesn't affect an NOx, HC, or CO meter.  Just try to
get the "clean-burning" fuel to power the vehicle sufficiently to
drive, or try to get the fuel that actually allows you to drive to
burn cleanly.  The promotors like to claim that the GEET engine will
run on water, Coke, and coffee, but they fail to tell you that you
need some gasoline in there as well.

Just how much gasoline?  Well, that depends whether you want the
engine to barely stumble over while you stick an EGA probe up the
tailpipe, or whether you want to get usable power out of the engine.
If you are pitching to a gullible audience, idle a rough-running
lawn mower on a 50/50 mix of water and gasoline while you measure
exhaust HC, then drive a Geo Metro on a 90/10 gas/water mix and tell
them you can't sell it because of Big Oil but you'll sell them the
plans, and you'll have the saps drooling and reaching for their
wallets.

Properly measured, on a miles per gallon of GASOLINE, the GEET does
worse on a water mix than on straight gasoline.  Anybody who tells
you othewise without providing detailed experimental results is a
liar.  Anybody who does provide detailed experimental results is still
a liar, and would present them in an SAE paper if they were accurate.
A geek engineer would sell his own grandmother to make such an impact
on society.

To run an engine on water and/or to significantly improve fuel
economy over that of a well-tuned modern engine would make somebody
world famous overnight and rich beyond their wildest dreams.  There's
a reason Paul Pantone makes his money selling plans to this "Earth
shattering technology" rather than changing the world himself, and
it has nothing to do with sinister forces trying to protect the
interests of Big Oil.

My name is Jon McBride. I invested 100K in GEET / Paul Pantone in Jan, 2000. I would like a list of all other investors. If you read this, please email me at jon@theclip.com I live in Kaysville, UT. I am not sure what I have been told is true about: Investors, Patents, attempted takeovers, other alleged criminal behavior, etc.
What I would like to do is find all other competent investors in Geet to come together to see if we can make this thing GO!!!!!!.

When I got involved it was my intention to "Clean Up" all the loose ends, so the business could proceed. I was not "hands on" and the people who were proved to be incompetent. It appears now that there are more "Loose ends" now than 1 year ago. Paul appears to trust no one, and he is not capable of doing what needs to happen. I am capable, but without the support of all the investors I can accomplish nothing.

Those of you who have invested will have pissed your funds away along with mine if we do not become proactive. This can be done, but we need some solidarity, communication and trust. I welcome your response.

Sincerely

Jon McBride 801-444-3377

Bob Colvin - GEET of MD/VA

In my opinion, despite what Paul Pantone says, there is overwhelming evidence to disprove most of his claims and promises. I challenge you. Ask any GEET dealer what they have to sell after all these years. If they have their own car running with a GEET system on it. You won't find a single one! WHY !!! The dealers listed on GEET's Dealer list as "Missing in Action" are the ones totally disgusted with GEET and Paul Pantone, and he doesn't want people to talk to them! Also ask any dealer or customer who has ordered untested products that don't work as advertised, or were never delivered. Contact the Utah Attorney Generals office to see the numerous complaints against GEET and Paul Pantone.

Also check with the geet-vortex-carb newsgroup (Paul Pantone - threatened the ISP and had it shut down, because he didn't like the negative comments by the 283 people on the newsgroup. Can they all be wrong?) for anyone that has ever dealt with Paul Pantone. His "Modus Operandi", is to lure investors and workers in on false promises, and then USE them till they no longer serve his purpose. Then they are then usually forced out, not paid, threatened with lawsuits, and then use  for "Scape Goats", etc, etc.

Unfortunately, the technology shows some potential, if it was only developed properly and professionally, and the investors money was not squandered by Paul Pantone. The "Bubbler" system is only a cheap gimmick for basic demonstrations of the technology. It will never be production worthy along with the "Closed Loop" system. The current "Air Management Valve" system is too temperamental and unreliable for vehicles.

After years of broken promises, lies, deceptions, and broken contracts and agreements. The "former" professional GEET R&D Department and many Dealers have left Paul Pantone and formed there own new company. They are now testing their own new superior computer controlled, fuel injected technology that should be Patented very shortly. Contact them to see the prototype vehicles, and to drive them yourself. Contracts are now being offered and negotiated with manufacturers for this new technology.

a few notes by by the creator of this page:

I realize this is controversial.  I for one would much rather believe that high mileage carbs really are possible and the above accounts are just from incompetent negative idiots.  So if anyone can find me even one example of someone getting a GEET kit to give them exceptional mileage, please allow me or some independent person to verify it and post the account to this page and to the free_energy email list. -Eric Krieg
