They claim that a Rotary Transformer Phase Converter can supply three phase power to motors from single phase power input. Other phase converters do the same but Jack claims their RTPC can make motors do more work output from less electrical power input. Claims that 400 watts to motor can do 3000 watts of work or that 110 VAC 9 amps (1 KW) can power the RTPC along with three phase motors 3 (5) HP air compressor, 1 (2.5) HP drill press and arc welder putting out 100 amps, all running under load at the same time. But Jack has NOT shown proof of his claims. This is just cut and pasted from many email messages Jack has sent. It’s hard to figure out who says what but I tried to put comments by others to Jack in italics. Note the long list of e-mail addresses Jack sends his rants to, most do NOT want it.

I have hundreds of letters from Jack. In brief he claims that
Infinite Energy sent Ken Rauen out to inspect and measure
the Rotary Transformer Phase Converter that converts single phase
power to three phase to run industrial motors.  Jack's claim is that
only 400 watts of input power is needed for a 3 HP motor doing the
work of 5 HP on air compressor.

It's not clear whether the 3 phase power to the motor on the
air compressor was measured or the input power to the RTPC.
Ken Rauen wrote that he might have connected the leads
from the Amprobe Data Logger to the wrong phase leads for
current and voltage to the air compressor motor but never got a
chance to double check his tests because Jack and Wayne talked
so much. Ken mentioned that he measured 208 volts and 2.2 KW
on the 12 gauge wire and that the power factor to the motor
was very low and current wasn't balanced on all three phase wires.

We think it might be possible that bad measurements or whatever
could account for the discrepancy and that Wayne had 220 VAC
on that 12 gauge 2 conductor wire instead of 110 VAC. But
the Electrical Code calls for three conductor with ground or Red,
Black, White, Ground for 220 VAC circuits, but code also says
only 20 amps on 12 gauge wire. SO it would seem that following
National Electrical Code was not important to Wayne.

Jack also claims that only 110 VAC and 9 amps input power is needed
to run the "5 HP" motor on air compressor and "2.5 HP" motor
on drill press along with an arc welder set for 100 amps output.
(Lincoln 250 amps "three phase" arc welder, is what Jack said)
So in other words 1000 watts input power is doing 3730 + 1865
+ 2 KW (est) = 7600 watts of work. With 220 VAC and 30 amps
 circuit breaker, the maximum input power could be 6600 watts.
 A big difference from the "1000 watts" claimed by Jack for full load.

Now Jack has never been able to change the
"30 amps screw in circuit breaker" to 15 amp slow blow fuse
on the 12 gauge 2 conductor "house wire" used to send power
to the garage. Jack has never connected a generator to the
alleged 5 HP (3730 watts) motor and used the 3000 watts
of output power to run other loads. Jack has never proven all the
equipment; 5 HP air compressor, 2.5 HP drill press and arc welder
set for 100 amps output will all run powered by small 1000 watt
gasoline generator. Jack makes some claims about "unused frequencies"
and "wasted kinetic energy" in the grid supplied power providing
the "extra efficiency." The RTPC would have to double the voltage
for the arc welder while doubling the amperage also. That is
truly amazing for a "transformer". I repaired and tested transformers
at a small shop several years ago so do understand how they work.

It seems Jack or Wayne never did do any testing to verify their
claims. We believe Jack took it upon himself to exaggerate what
Wayne had told him. Rotary Transformer Phase Converters are
not a "new invention". Basically take a three phase motor and
supply single phase power to 2 of its power wires. Then if you
get the motor spinning with another motor it will remain running
at reduced power, but will supply three phase power using the
open terminal also to other motors in parallel with it. You can
also start a three phase motor using single phase power and
a motor starting capacitor to the open phase wire. My brother
has a passive phase converter in his shop to run an Bridgeport
mill with three phase motor. But there are no claims of amazing
"efficiency" Jack claims.

Jack has made claims of permanent magnets doing work, atomic
power in 5 gallon bucket, crash proof passenger compartment,
self contained power source for cars, etc. All of those technologies
are from someone else but Jack never can give us exactly who and
where we could verify the claims. Jack talks about the Russian
"science" magazine www.faraday.ru but it's more of "pseudoscience"
then science. The did print picture of Jack on front cover several
months ago. But Alexander Frolov, the editor,  never got any
information from Jack about "Confidential Technology" that was
worth publishing.

Jack now claims they are designing a Gravity Drive using CAD CAM
and that the Rotary Transformer Phase Converter is obsolete along
with the DC to AC self charging system, etc. Why would "electric
current without ElectroMagneticField", be good to run motors
since the EMF is what makes motors work?
Amazing how kooks can just keep switching from one idea/machine to
another without EVER proving the previous idea/machine works. ;-)

Jack has "promoted": Atomic power in a 5 gallon bucket, "crash proof"
passenger compartment for cars, medical diagnosis and cure scanner,
alternative clean energy for cars, permanent magnet motor but it had
to be disassembled because it caused genetic damage. Allegedly
that is why Wayne got cancer and died several years later. Along
with being poisoned by American Axle, etc.

I'm sure everyone on the wastewatts mailing list would like a RTPC
IF it worked as claimed. ;-) 400 watts input power does 5 HP of
work according to Jack. But Jack never even changed the "30 amp
screw in circuit breaker" to 15 amp slow blow fuse, even though
claim is only 9 amps needed at full load. Nor has Jack ever connected
a generator to the alleged 5 HP motor on air compressor and used
the 3000 watts of electric power it should make, for other loads.

I have NEVER found anyone that endorsed Jack's claims. He likes
to brag but nobody actually believes him. Jack has NEVER demonstrated
anything to experts who have carefully measured it yet. I don't believe
Jack actually has a RTPC in his possession at this time so he can NOT
demonstrate it. Wayne built a couple dozen RTPC supposedly.

Ken Rauen from Infinite Energy said he only had 20 minutes
to actually try testing the RTPC in Wayne's garage. He might have
gotten the phase connected wrong between the voltage leads and
current sense leads, but never got a chance to double check. Jack
and Wayne talked so much. Ken did say that the power factor was
very low and not balanced current on all three phases.

It seems RTPC is just a three phase motor that they get to run from
single phase power input, then it supplies three phase power to other
motors in parallel. Three phase motors can be run from single phase
power if you get the motor spinning first with another motors or
something. OR you can use a motor starting capacitor from one
of the two power leads that have single phase power applied
and connect it to the open phase lead, until the motor gets started.

Wayne Cochran worked at American Axle auto parts plant in Flint, MI.
I chatted with Wayne once on the telephone a year ago. He had some
strange ideas about bacteria can change rusty iron into copper and
measurement
units have changed over the years. A mile is shorter now or something
like that.

I did call Jack's wife once and asked about the RTPC and she got Jack
on the telephone. So guess there is someone who can put up with Jack. ;-)

Jack has a cellphone, so that's the best way to talk to him if you want
more entertainment. But use a calling card so he can't get your telephone
number. You certainly do NOT want Jack calling you.
Not nice to bother Jack's wife, etc. The other people associated
with Confidential Technology or Jack Carey deserve some privacy.

We have tried reasoning with Jack Carey for over a year. I'm
the "Eric clone" that saw the RTPC at the Dennis Lee show
back in August 11 2001. But didn't pay too much attention
after 5 hours non stop nonsense from Dennis Lee. ;-)

Besides there was a Kohler diesel generator out back
behind the hotel conference room that powered all the equipment
Dennis Lee demonstrated. I just used a clamp-on ammeter and
measured 60 amps on all three phase wires to the Baldor 20 HP
motor that drove the Sundance generator. By their own tests
it was only 75% efficient but they claim the Baldor 20 HP three phase
motor is only 75% efficient and their Sundance Genertor 100%. ;-)

So one more claim that was made by Wayne Cochran for his
Rotary Transformer Phase Converter was ignored.

I also got response back from Alexander Frolov, editor or
www.faraday.ru magazine that published Jack's picture on
cover. They never got any information worth publishing from Jack.
Dr. Carlton Speck of Delphi Automotive never showed any sign
he believed Jack either. Jack just sent copy of reply from Dr. Speck
where he said, "please contact our other department with more
details and patent information, etc." Basically saying, "go bother
someone else" is the way I interpreted it.

We have tried reason with Jack or John R Carey of
Burton MI (next to Flint) for over a year. First off there is
NO proof of any of his claims. So why bother trying to explain
something that has no evidence it's true? Jack only allegedly
quotes test results from Ken Rauen of Infinite Energy. But
Infinite Energy never published a story about Confidential
Technology or the Rotary Transformer Phase Converter
that Jack "promotes".

Ken Rauen of Infinite Energy magazine doesn't want to be
bothered with Jack any more. He did say that the lights seemed
to stay bright with all the equipment running, but Ken also
wrote that he tested 208 VAC 2 KW on the 12 gauge
wire in Wayne's garage using Amprobe Data Logger.
So it's possible Wayne had 220 VAC on that 12/2 Romex Wire,
even though that is not National  Electric Code approved, but neither
is 30 amp "screw in circuit breaker" on 12 gauge wire, that is rated
for 20 amps. So that would be 220 VAC at 30 amps = 6600 watts  possible,
and the 30 amp breaker might not trip until more than 30 amps.

The Russian magazine did put Jack's picture and his Mustang
Saleen Cobra on cover last year for some reason, www.faraday.ru
But Alexander Frolov the publisher never got anything worthwhile
to publish from Jack. 
I assume you saw www.electrifyingtimes.com and searched for
old article they published on "confidential Technology". That's
the late Wayne Cochran in the picture next to air compressor.

The other problem is that the alleged "inventor", Wayne Cochran,
died of cancer in December 2002.

Jack KNOWS NOTHING, so any technical questions are
a waste of time. Jack has NOT been able to get one reliable
local electrician to verify his claims. Nor has Jack allowed
Mott Community College in Flint to test it, but he keeps saying
they will "soon", since September 2002. Apparently now
Marlene of "Confidential Technology" says Jack does NOT
work for or represent the company and asked him to stop.

In brief Jack claims: The RTPC will power 5 HP motor on
air compressor and only use 400 watts. But Jack can't connect
a generator to that 5 HP (3730 watts) motor and use the 3000
watts of electrical power generated for other loads. Jack claims
that 110VAC 9 amps can power the RTPC and 5 HP air compressor,
2.5 HP drill press and arc welder putting out 100 amps all at the
same time under full load. Now just the arc welder specifications
for Lincoln 225 amp is 230 VAC and 50 amps input for full output
and 70 VAC open circuit voltage. So figure 230 VAC 20 amps
input required for 100 amps output. Amazing "transformer" that
can double the voltage AND the current or four times the power!

As you noted, perhaps the circuit can "fool" the KWhr meter but
it is still "stealing" power and the power company does NOT have
to give you power into any type of load, or at least they will make
you PAY for it. ;-) Jack claimed the RTPC used to blow up electric
utility company's power transformers. I'm sure they won't install
a new one unless you paid for it then. Now sure transformers do
fail on occasion but they would get suspicious if it happens twice.
I used to work at shop repairing distribution transformers.

Jack has never powered the RTPC and all that equipment using
1000 watt gasoline engine powered generator, even though it
should work if only 110 VAC 9 amps is needed. Nor has he
run his home using only 400 watts input and 3000 watts output.

I never bothered to test the alleged RTPC. If I happened to getto Flint, could stop by. As we have told you many times, just connect a generator to the motor doing 3600 watts of work from only 400 watts input and use that to power your home. Should be able to get 2800 watts or so output from the generator while only using 400 watts. That is seven times more "efficiency" than the linear world.

Show us the RTPC running from a small 1000 watt generator or from 1000 watt inverter, while powering the three phase " 3600 watt" motor on air compressor and "1800" watt motor on drill press and Lincoln arc welder set for 100 amps all running under load at same time. Just run the inverter from a car battery while charging it from the generator. That should keep it going if only 400 watts is needed by motor & generator producing 3000 watts. Or use a separate battery to keep charged and switch them when needed. That way the electron flow without EMF or "wasted kinetic energy" or "unused frequencies" in the electricity won't know that you are using them over again. Or do you have to hide one battery out of sight so that the electricity can't see it? :-)

But Jack, in all this time you can't do that. You still pay a big electric bill don't you?

(Lots of people claim "overunity efficiency" but can't do the simple test of closing the loop so that it powers

itself from the excessive output. )

I did chat with Electrifying Times for a few minutes once.

They said the power factor from RTPC was very low and phase current was not balanced to the three phase motors. Seems like possible measurement errors could account for your misunderstanding of total power input and output.

Why don't you get someone else that Eric knows to test or build an RTPC? There is a motor expert who built most

of Joseph Newman's "energy machine" that Joe took off with before testing was done. Look up the Norm Biss story at www.phact.org/e/skeptic for details. Why aren't you selling RTPC through the motor distributor in Flint?

Eric or I don't work on motors much, but we understand the concepts. Motors are tricky to wind, usually the coils are preformed to fit in the slots then all connected together and glued in place, insulation added, etc. Eric knows experts who do build and design motors.

So far all we have seen or read is Jack's rants. Nobody else seems to support your claims. Where is the webpage with details of the test results, etc?

Until we see test results that I personally do or from MOTT or someone I could trust, we don't believe you Jack. We have pointed out obvious tests if it worked as claimed. Your analogy of increased gasoline mileage is NOT correct since it's well known how to get better gasoline mileage: increased engine efficiency, less weight, better gearing, lower rolling or wind resistance, etc. But those don't "break" the laws of physics that your claim of 400 watts doing 3600 watts of work does. Prove it by getting 3000 watts from a generator connected to the alleged 3600 watt output motor while it uses only 400 watts input power.
